Booking Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2023

My Booking & Cancellation Policy exists because booking a session with me isn’t like ordering takeout.
This work takes something from me – my energy, my emotional bandwidth, my whole nervous system really. So I’ve learned I need some structure around how this all works, both for your sake and mine.

1. How Booking Actually Works

Everything goes through: https://touchbytrans.com/booking/

I read every single request myself. Sometimes I’ll email you back with questions – not to be difficult, but because I need to understand what you’re looking for. I’ve learned the hard way that assuming never works out well.

Just because you submit a request doesn’t mean we’re automatically going to work together. If something feels off or we’re not aligned, I’ll say no. It’s nothing personal, I promise. I just can’t do good work when the fit isn’t right.

2. About the Screening Thing

I know some people get weird about screening, but here’s the deal – I don’t see complete strangers anymore. Been burned too many times.

I might ask what you’re hoping to get out of this, where your head’s at, whether you’ve done bodywork before. If your answers feel rehearsed or you’re clearly just telling me what you think I want to hear, we’re probably not going to move forward.

This isn’t a massage parlor. It’s intimate work, and I take my safety seriously.

3. Money Stuff

You can pay when you book, or we can do it when you show up – your choice. But if we agree on payment at arrival, you still need to confirm the session ahead of time.

Ghost me after saying you’ll pay when you arrive? You’re done. I won’t work with you again. And don’t expect a refund if you just disappear without saying anything.

4. Cancellations – Give Me Some Notice

Twenty-four hours minimum, please. That’s not unreasonable, right? It gives me time to offer your slot to someone else, and honestly, it takes me a while to come down from the energy I put into preparing for sessions.

Cancel last minute and you’ll probably lose your money and your chance to reschedule. But if you’re respectful about it and give me proper notice, I’ll work with you. I’m not trying to be a hardass here.

5. No-Shows Are a Hard No

Don’t show up, don’t contact me, don’t expect to book again. Ever.

I know stuff happens – traffic, family emergencies, whatever. But if you can’t even send a text, you’re telling me something about how you approach commitments, and that doesn’t work for this kind of work.

6. Rescheduling – Once

You get one reschedule, assuming you give me that 24-hour notice. After that, we’re pushing it. I’ve got other people who want these slots, and I can’t keep moving things around.

Email me if you need to reschedule: mskelly@touchbytrans.com

7. I Can Cancel Too

If something starts feeling weird – your energy, how you’re communicating, anything that makes my gut say “nope” – I’m canceling. Already paid? I’ll refund you.

I’ve also stopped sessions mid-way when people crossed boundaries. I won’t hesitate to do it again.

8. Be Real With Me

You need to be over 21. Use your actual name. Don’t lie about why you’re here or what you want.

I can usually tell when someone’s being dishonest anyway, and it makes the whole thing feel gross. Lie to me once, and we’re done permanently.

9. Why I Even Have This Policy

A few years ago, I was way more flexible about all this stuff. I’d reschedule multiple times, take bookings from people who gave me weird vibes, let things slide when my boundaries got pushed.

You know what happened? I burned out. Hard. Started dreading sessions, feeling anxious about new clients, doubting my own instincts.

This policy isn’t me being difficult – it’s me protecting the work. And when I’m in a good headspace, I can show up fully for the people who really want to be here.

10. Questions?

Seriously, if any of this confuses you or seems unfair, email me. I’d rather have an awkward conversation upfront than deal with weird energy later.

I’m not trying to make this harder than it needs to be. I just know what works and what doesn’t, and I’m finally old enough to trust that knowledge.
